- Do you have High Security Locks?
If Not:
Your Home or Business is vulnerable to the following attacks!
Picking, Bumping, Drilling, Kicking, Prying, Wrenching, and Unauthorized
key duplication.
High security locks recommended are MuL-T-Lock,
Medeco, ASSA, & Abloy
- Does
your Home or Business have Deadbolts Installed?
A door without a deadbolt can easily be opened.
At the very least, a medium duty deadbolt with a good strike plate
is highly recommended.
Please keep in mind, "Double sided deadbolts"
(when a key is
needed to operate both sides of the lock) are
a FIRE HAZARD. Use very good judgment if having one installed,
especially if you have children or elderly persons living in your
home. A safer option would be to us a home or business security
alarm system instead.
- When you first Purchased or Rented your
home or business did you have your locks rekeyed or changed? If
Not:
There may
be several people with copies of keys to your home or business that
you are not aware of. The previous owner(s) may have given copies
of the keys to several other people over the years. Some examples
would be cleaning/maintenance person, other family members, neighbors
or friends, contractors doing work on the premises, etc.
It's not worth the risk at least have your locks Rekeyed!
- Do you have a safe for your Personal,
Valuable, and Irreplaceable items?
If so, is it Fire Proof ? Water proof ? If
not a Fire/Burglary safe is best to protect your belongings. you
can always use water proof bags or bins to protect against water
or a water proof safe properly installed will protect against water
fire, and burglary.
(NOTE)
98% of wall safes installed today are not
fire proof!
A draw in your room is not a safe they are one of the first places
a thief will look for valuable items along with Closets, Hidden
areas and shelves in your closet, Little boxes, and Under your bed
and mattresses.
- Do you have an alarm installed? If
so. Do you arm it? Do you arm it at night! You should that's what
is there for!! Not for the insurance discount!!
To protect you and your family
from fires and burglary when your
away and YES when your home!
(NOTE) At least one Glass break sensor
and/or motion sensor should be in the main areas of your home. Regular
sensors don't go off if a burglarer breaks the glass and just walks
or climbs in and out of your home.
- check back week to week for more information
Thank you for looking.
